“Visions of My Shadow Self” was created during a time when I was struggling with very dark thoughts. The bright blues and oranges stand out against the black and white, showing the contrast between light and darkness. The childlike, messy character represents the vulnerable part of me that was hurting. The piece shows what it felt like to carry heavy emotions while still holding on to color and life. It is a reminder that even in dark places, there can still be something worth seeing.
